Gradescope
Gradescope is an online grading software with optical character recognition (OCR) and artificial intelligence (AI) assistance to help efficiently grade paper-based homework and exams as well as coding assignments. Grading time is reduced because it sorts responses into groups of similar answers for each question to quickly provide feedback and marks, which are stored for re-use in future semesters. Gradescope also provides the instructor with detailed analytics to help identify concept weaknesses needing further instruction or for use when determining potential areas of course design changes. Students may submit their written work to Gradescope using their mobile device through Canvas, the Gradescope website, or the Gradescope Mobile App.
When using Gradescope to provide homework templates for students to fill out, it is recommended that the templates also be provided in an accessible and editable format through Canvas, such as a Word document.
