MyOpenMath

Overview 

MyOpenMath is an online course management and assessment system for mathematics and other quantitative fields. MyOpenMath’s focus is providing rich algorithmically generated assessment to support the use of free, open textbooks like the ones listed on OpenTextBookStore.com. 

 

Functions 

The tool seamlessly integrates into Canvas and offers grade pass back which assists instructors with grading and assignment management, also saving time as instructors do not need to manually enter grades. The course must first be set up on the tool’s website once connected to the LMS. Students in the course are automatically enrolled.  

 
Instructional Considerations 

• MyOpenMath does not provide individual email or phone support. The vendor instead encourages users to form a learning community at their institutions to support each other in learning and using the system. MyOpenMath is run and supported by volunteers from the user community. 

• Complexity or learning curve: Advanced  

• Accessibility: Discuss this tool throughout the semester with your students to ensure that none of them require accommodations to use it.
