Honorlock is a paid virtual proctoring service that allows students to complete quizzes and exams at their convenience, while recording the session. The service utilizes a Google Chrome extension, meaning that the proctoring service is only compatible with a Google Chrome browser. The software prevents and automatically records if students try to cut, copy, paste, right-click, and print while taking an exam. The information about the student's exam session appears on the instructor's Honorlock dashboard for review, where they will be able to review suspicious activity. Honorlock uses technologies such as search and destroy, browser guard, live pop in, and mobile phone prevention to provide confidence to instructors that students are not cheating.
Go to Settings, click on the "Navigation" tab, find "Honorlock", click the 3 dots on the right and choose "enable." Click "Save" at the bottom of the page. There is a cost associated with using this tool. Please reach out to Chris Newsom at cnewsom@ufl.edu for more information.
