Labster

Labster hosts a variety of interactive lab simulations that can be imported as assignments into Canvas courses. Students launch the lab simulation from their web browser and when completed, their grade goes to the Canvas gradebook. Faculty can access a list of accessible simulations on the Labster Accessibility page.

Installation Instructions  

This tool is not free to use. If you decide to use Labster, contact the vendor for purchasing information. Once purchasing is complete, contact eLearning Support for setup assistance.

Please note that when using this tool for the first time, you will need to select “Authorize” to allow Labster to access assignments utilizing this tool.

How to Create an Assignment  

Create an assignment. For “Submission Type,” select “External Tool.” Then, click “Find” and select “Labster 1.3” (not Labster). This will open up the catalog of simulations that you can add to your assignment.
