If you plan to develop a new teaching and learning tool or are working with a vendor that is developing a new tool that will integrate with Canvas or be used by UF students, it is important that it protects student data and is accessible to students with disabilities. Consult with the offices below early in the process so that information technology professionals can advise you on compliance with university policies without requiring substantial revisions to an almost-complete product.
- Email Integrated Risk Management (irm-uf@ufl.edu) for security expectations and guidelines, and to ask questions during development.
- Request an accessibility consultation from Center for Instructional Technology and Training to help you chart a path for making a product that is usable for students and meets WCAG standards.
- Contact UF Innovate for help with any copyright or licensing concerns.
